Not only could Rogue One be my favourite Star Wars film at the moment I declared it the best film of all time when I first saw the clip of the super laser being lowered in to the Death Star but the score, taking in to account all that has come before it and all the comes after it in the saga.
This soundtrack offers you glimpses of all 7 films of the saga. Remember, this is a stand alone film but of course very much tied in to what is going on in the saga.
So the fact it is not a John Williams score. Michael Giacchino use John's elements to great effect and with affection for the original music surrounding Rogue One.

Shot digitally the film's transfer is crisp clear and gives away an amazing amount of detail. Sharpness and colour saturation are great.
About 50 of the 99 minutes are best demo material to convince critics of the format. After half an hour you forget that this is supposed to be a horror movie and not a BBC documentary.
Then the beautifully animated beast hits the boat and the 5. Bass, surrounds and dynamics are great and give you the creeps.
The scarier scenes in the dark are very good as well accept for about 3 minutes where the black level is not as strong as in the rest and where the overal impression is to crispy, too.
The feature being more of a nature drama than a typical horror, this "Rogue"-Blu-ray is worth every cent. Especially because of its impressive transfer and sound design.
