The island's leading tsunami expert is kidnapped on the same day that ocean reports indicate that a huge tsunami is headed to Hawaii. However, Five-0 soon suspects that the report is a hoax and is related to the kidnapping.
McGarrett and Chin Ho try to rescue and protect a federal witness on the run from assassins, while Danny tries to get to the bottom of his daughter and ex-wife's carjacking.
Five-0 searches for a group of Spring Breakers who are being held for ransom by a group of pirates. While Five-0 races to stop a mad bomber before he kills again, Danny gets an unexpected visit from his little brother, Matt, a fun-loving, Wall Street broker.

Internet Brands. The man has bubonic plague. Five-O races to contain a potential plague outbreak and discover what the motorcycle rider is doing.
In Oahu State Prison, cons led by Big Chicken want to bring Swanson to heel because he doesn't show enough respect for "the system.
Swanson gathers up prison guards as hostages to try to get out of the prison. Swanson says if he's not let out, he'll start killing the hostages.
McGarrett offers himself up as a hostage to try to head off bloodshed. McGarrett receives a cryptic letter and a photo of a woman with an "x" drawn through it.
The woman was stabbed repeatedly. Later, another is killed the same way and Five-O gets another letter. The victims both worked at the same company, Hawaiian Amalgamated Industries.
The company is headed by the headstrong Martha, who employs two nephews, Arnold and Charlie. The killings are a ruse, intended to create the impression of a psychopath killer on the loose.
In reality, the killer is Charlie and he kills Martha so he can inherit his share of her estate. He also stabs Joey Kalama, son of police detective Phil Kalama, nearly goes down in a boxing match then comes back to win the fight.
Later, he is beaten by two thugs and dies. The heat is turned up on Five-O after Joey's manager falls to his death accidentally while Phil was trying to question him.
McGarrett's sister, whose infant son is dying of cancer, has fallen under the sway of a medical quack. Her husband is afraid to confront her.
Instead, he summons McGarrett to their home in Los Angeles. McGarrett enlists the aid of U. Food and Drug Administration officials in prosecuting the quack.
However, McGarrett's sister refuses to believe her big brother. When the child dies, the sister turns against McGarrett. As the trial begins, it is disrupted by followers of the quack.
McGarrett, desperate to convict medical quack C. Fremont, seeks evidence where she can be prosecuted for a more serious charge. Facing extremely long odds, he convinces the family of a former Fremont patient to have the body exhumed.
However, the casket wasn't airtight. McGarrett and Zipser, an attorney for the U. Food and Drug Administration, instead manage to trip up Fremont in court.
The maneuver causes McGarrett's sister to realize her brother had been right all along. The leader of a band of protesters is killed while confronting the general of a foreign nation.
Authorities initially believe it was an assassination attempt on the general's life. Five-O, however, turns up leads that the lead protester was the intended victim of the killer.
While the young people protested for peace, it turns out some of them did have motive. Five-O intercepts a "box man," an expert safe cracker, at the Honolulu airport.
The criminal is killed by a shot from Dan Williams, who fired just before the criminal would have shot Chin Ho. McGarrett goes undercover, posing as the box man.
The lawman finds himself involved in a conspiracy involving two other criminals, Swanson and Andre, as well as a woman.
All claim to know nothing about "the Man" who is sending them instructions. Eventually, McGarrett discovers the target of the plot -- a yacht Sam, a friend of the Governor's and a distant relative of Kono's, is also among the last of descendants of Hawaiian kings.
Sam says he saw the Hawaiian goddess of fire, Pele coming for him and fired a gun in defense. McGarrett "I'm a man of this century" doesn't believe in Hawaiian gods but also thinks that Sam is not senile or imagining things.
Sam's closest relative is his nephew George, who is married to Eleanor, who yearns for a jet set life.

S1, Ep6. When the CEO of a hugely successful surf company is murdered, Kono revisits her past while Five-0 is thrown headlong into the varied but interconnected worlds of North Shore surfing.
S1, Ep7. The hostage-taker is an ex-Navy SEAL suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, who is the prime suspect in the murder of his wife.
S1, Ep8. Danny's ex-partner from the Honolulu P. Danny demands the team must take his word that the man was incorruptible, although evidence piles up that he was involved in corruption surrounding the Mexican Ochoa cocaine cartel.

In turn, McGarrett enlists Honolulu newcomer Danny Williams, a divorced detective who moved from New Jersey to be closer to his daughter; Chin Ho Kelly, a disgraced police officer and a protege of McGarrett's father who was wrongly accused of corruption; and Kono Kalakaua, Chin Ho's cousin, a former surfer and soon-to-be Police Academy graduate.
After threatening to deport the family of the ring leader, Sang Min, to Rwanda , McGarrett is given the location where Hesse is, on a freighter heading to China.
McGarrett and Danny storm the freighter and dispatches several of Hesse's guards. Brad Turner. While Kono Kalakaua is tasked with looking after Lowery's son Evan Colin Ford , the rest of the team discover Lowery was working on a "skeleton key", a computer program that would allow the user to hack into anything.
The rest of the team realize the gang is using the program to shut down the island's radar, allowing a plane to smuggle through.
Zankovic intends to sell the program to the occupants of the plane. Before the deal is made, McGarrett's team storm the warehouse and arrest Zankovic.
In the end, the team celebrate Kono's Police Academy graduation. The team fall witness to a shooting between Triad and Samoan gangs during a high school football game, which they were watching, and during the game, Danny introduces Grace to the team.
Chin Ho chases a suspect, only to find it is Sid Sidney Liufau , his cousin, who later reveals himself to be working undercover in a gang unit.
Sid refuses to have anything to do with Chin Ho because of Chin's past with the HPD and also because of the corruption charge that Chin has.
The team manage to stop the meeting. Meanwhile, Danny fights to keep shared custody of his daughter Grace following the gang shooting, as she was present; his ex-wife ultimately drops the case.
In the end, the team decides to name themselves "Five-0", after McGarrett's high school football jersey number. Alex Zakrzewski. Note: This is the first episode to feature Taryn Manning as a main cast member credited as "also starring".
Amanda Reeves, the adult daughter of U. Ambassador to the Philippines Michael Reeves, is found drowned. Governor Jameson takes a personal pledge to find those responsible, and enlists Five Over the course of the investigation, they learn Amanda's sister Robin is still alive and was last found in a nightclub.
McGarrett and Danny discover somebody drugged both sisters and sold them to a sex trafficking ring.
